Birthday party post
((OOC: In celebration of Reo's birthday, here is a party post! Any and all Reos you want to thread with, it can cross RP verses or be part of an RP verse or just outside the verse, and it's low commitment! You can drop it whenever you feel like it. As can I. Also your character doesn't have to have threaded with Reo before, that's what the +1 on the RSVP is for!
Throw up a starter, ping me here or on Plurk to plan something out, whatever works for you.))

It starts early, since he knows Reocchi is an early riser, but also modestly. It's only an explosively large bouquet of asters, Reocchi! You can easily leave them at home to come back to after classes!
The silk scarf in the same storm green-grey-purple as Reocchi's eyes tucked into his shoe locker at school, however, is going to have to be kept for the duration.
The small gifts continue to appear in his shoe locker during the day--a set of silver hairpins with, of course, asters on them, Reo's favorite fragrance, a small but carefully selected box of chocolates--and by the end of classes, chances are Reo may need a hand transporting them all from there to the locker room.
Luckily, there is a bouncing small forward there with a huge grin on his face, fully prepared to help deal with the pile he's created.

The other things, though, can't just be put in his bag without fear of damaging them weaving through the crowds in the halls, so he certainly would not object to a little assistance.
"Ryo-chan," he says fondly, leaning over to kiss his soulmate's cheek. "You're so thoughtful. Thank you."

"Of course, Reocchi! Your birthday should be special! I made us reservations for after we get cleaned up from practice at the Western-style fondue place that just opened, and then if you want we can go to the mall. I didn't get you any clothes other than the scarf because I knew you'd want to pick them yourself, but I really want to go birthday shopping with Reocchi."
He's started to gather some of the boxes up, chattering as he does. He's got the entire afternoon and evening planned! Nothing but the best for his soulmate.

Invitation passed dutifully along, Reo smiles as he leans into Ryo-chan's (careful) hug. "I would love to go birthday shopping with Ryo-chan. I can't wait."

And she's actually got a little cake, sloppily iced and labeled with his name in frosting. Haley isn't much of a cook, but she did at least try following the recipe, and it looks okay, so maybe it'll taste okay, too. Mister is sitting on the table next to it sniffing it, though she's got her back to it so she can't see it yet. Bob's skull is sitting on its other side, the glowing eyes looking at it mournfully.
"Surprise?" she says with a grin once the door opens and he can see the tiny gathering.
"Surprise!" Bob adds, more enthusiastically.

(They sent gifts and cards timed to arrive as close to the day as possible, which he of course appreciates, but it isn't the same as being able to hear their voices.)
Despite his best efforts to remain positive and focus on the good, he's been feeling a little lost all day in a way he hasn't felt since his first few weeks in America. He's looking forward to his lessons with Ms Dresden even more than usual, knowing they'll take his mind off everything in a way his classes couldn't manage. Maybe that will be the mental reset he needs to finish the day on a good note.
He keys into the wards, lets himself inside (no need to knock when the wards register his presence and let Ms Dresden know about it), and is definitely surprised by what greets him.
"Oh!" His expression brightens immediately. "Ms Dresden! Bob-san! Thank you!"

"Happy birthday, apprentice," she says, rather than making Reo answer that, unless he really wants to. "I, uh, had no idea what kind of cake you liked best, so it's this vanilla-chocolate marble thing. Or it's supposed to be. It might have wound up more mixed up than it should have been."
"Dresden's not the best cook, you know," Bob adds, twinkling mockingly in her direction.

He should at some point make sure that there's really nothign else happening, but it'll be fine.
"Me either! Reocchi has such good taste, and you always help me find nice things too." Today won't be about looking for him, but it's one of the fun things about shopping with your soulmate. Even if he doesn't intend to, Kise usually ends up leaving with an item or two for himself just because Reocchi's eye is that good.

If he seems particularly attentive when Mibuchi does come out for the morning--if it seems like he's carefully observing what his roommate does in the kitchen--hopefully the presence postcard will alleviate any concerns that he's gone completely around the bend. (The message on it won't because Shintaro just... signed his name.)]
